"We've Got the Whole World in Our Hands"
Lyrics:  Amy and Mariah, (March, 2016)
(audience participation and props)

We’ve got the whole wide world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole wide world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole wide world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole wide world in our hands

We've got the bear and the dolphin, in our hands,
We've got the owl and the squirrel, in our hands,
We've got the air we breathe, in our hands,
We've got all life in our hands.

We've got to stop the destruction of our lands,
Turn back the pipeline, take our stand,
Stop draining the planet, it's in our hands,
We've got the whole world in our hands.

(up a note for the remaining versus)
We've got the lives of our future, in our hands,
We've got the new born babies, in our hands,
We've got decision-making power, in our hands,
We've got the whole world in our hands.

We can work together, with our hands,
Holding up each other, with our hands,
Standing strong together, holding hands,
We've got the whole world in our hands..

We’ve got the whole wide world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole wide world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole wide world, in our hands
We’ve got the whole wide world in our hands

"Our Children's Trust Anthem"

Tune:  "Our Country Tis of Thee"
Lyrics:  Raging Grannies Eugene  (June 2016)

Parents and friends, we must
Earn back Our Children's Trust,
And save the land.
Our leaders must be brave!
This is their chance to save
Our coastlines from the waves
The time's at hand.

We must make promises,
Shun doubting Thomases,
Clean up the air.
A dirty atmosphere
Kills all that we hold dear.
We have a job that is quite clear:
Protect our air.

Our children's lives depend
On laws that will defend
Our planet's health.
Let people gravitate
To leaders who are great.
Let everyone cooperate
IT'S LIFE OR DEATH!

GRANNY SONGS

WRITTENBY EUGENE'S VERY OWN

"Granny" Peg's Song
Tune:  My Blue Heaven
Lyrics:  Amy and Mariah, (December, 2016)

1)  You've decided at last, that your time here is      past,
You'll travel to your blue heaven.
We'll know you are there
 In your rocking chair,
Our Granny in your new heaven.

We know you'll get some rest,
And that is best,
But when you're done -
You'll be in a rush
To create a fuss
And make it fun!

2)  You've stood silent and strong,
To right every wrong,
Peace and justice to make Earth heaven.
You've put yourself on the line,
Fearless every time,
Our Granny in your blue heaven.

From the new place you'll go
Perhaps you'll see the show,
And help us carry on -
If not, you'll be our guide
Model what's inside
Til the struggles are won.

3) When we're filled with despair,
We know that you care
You'll join us from your blue heaven.

"The Granny Buffalo Song"
Tune:  "How Much is that Doggie in the Window"
(City Council 6-27-16 Climate Recovery Ordinance)

How much do we budget for the system
That keeps fossil fuels in the ground?
How much should we spend on our existence?
We do hope the science is sound.

The science is scary and it's tempting
to pretend that we don't understand,
the temperature rises unrelenting
though we bury our heads in the sand.

We meet and we make some resolutions,
our plans we're intending to keep
But laws without funds are no solution
'cause everyone knows talk is CHEAP!

Our leaders must lead us to a future
Where all kids and grandkids can thrive.
Without plans to save our ecosystem
How can our planet survive?

How hard can it be to change our lifestyle,
Compared to destroying our home.
If we cannot be a little versatile, (pause)
Where will the Buffalo Roam?

A Granny's Life for Me

A fancy hat and a walking cane

The courage to speak when the world's in pain...

The wisdom that comes as we grow old

More interests and friends than our arms can hold...

Aging can really be lots of fun

Personal freedom at last has come

We've finally learned how to make things hum!
